About this product
An unbranded solid wood acoustic violin in the student and beginner class, supplied as a bare instrument. The body is solid wood with a two-piece flamed maple back that shows real figure under an antiqued varnish, and the fittings are dark ebony-look pegs, fingerboard and tailpiece with a wooden chinrest. There is no maker's label visible through the f-hole, no brand stamp, no serial number and no size marking anywhere on the instrument. Be clear on what is and is not in the box: this is the violin only. There is no bow, no case, no rosin and no shoulder rest, and in the photographs no bridge is fitted and the strings are slack, so the instrument is not playable as received - a bridge must be fitted and the instrument strung and tuned before it can be sold to an end user. That makes this a piece for buyers who can finish it or who move instruments as-is: music-shop and luthier trade buyers who set up and mark up, school and rental programmes, closeout and liquidation sellers, and online sellers who bundle their own bow and case to build a complete outfit. Unbranded status is an advantage for anyone applying their own label. Before listing, measure the body to establish the fractional size (4/4, 3/4, 1/2), because nothing on the instrument declares it.
